Angus 'Houdini' Rex

It's been 2 days since I last saw little Angus and I'm missing the little sod. Having him greet me at the lounge room door each morning was somewhat of a ritual. Not having him around just feels strange. Here's a pic of Angus and his new best friend, our goddaughter Sanja.

We had a mild stress yesterday when his new mum Billy called to tell us that Angus had gone missing. So after turning the entire house upside down, reporting it to the RSPCA, the neighbours and anyone else that would listen, Billy gets home and sees Angus's little head peering through the window. We suspect it was another one of Angus's Houdini tricks. He is a masterful hider. In any case, he's all good. Nothing to see here, people.

Todays events..

Didn't go for a swim yesterday but went for a 1.7km swim today, 200m more than I usually do. I also have prenatal yoga tonight which I love, it really relaxes me. I haven't had the best sleep the past two nights so really looking forward to it.

The humidity in Sydney is so unbearable for me at the moment, I cant stand it!

Off to ring my mum now.

Baby Shower & Family Departure

Had my Baby Shower yesterday, had an afternoon tea at home. Was hectic trying to get it all organised but was really nice. Unfortunately it was rainy & so humid I was melting, so the garden party I was hoping for was not to be. Got some really gorgeous presents & some bottles of french champers for when I can actually have a few drinks (god I can't wait!). My good friend Gazzy made cupcakes for me & they were so awesome I can't even tell you! I was on such a sugar high from them, I was all over the place!

Steve is in Brisbane for the weekend. He took our beloved male cat Angus up there as he's being adopted by our friend Biljana. Angus decided to get territorial a year ago & terrorises our female cat Cleo so we've been separating them & had Cleo in the front of the house & Angus in the back of the house since then. With bubs coming along, cant keep Cleo in the front of the house as that's where bubba will be sleeping so unfortunately had to find a new home for Angus. Very sad about it though, still love him to pieces. Had a teary about it yesterday, place doesn't feel the same without him.

Might try & go for a swim today, it's still REALLY humid & overcast. Hate this weather. Then might try to visit Kez & Gaz before picking up my baby from the airport.

Hello!

Hello! This is my first post to the Ristic family blog. Well as Steve mentioned not long to go now until our baby girl arrives. I'm 34 weeks pregnant now & really cant wait to meet her. It's so surreal having this little person growing inside you & wondering what she will look like, what her little personality will be like, how are we going to be as parents? All exciting stuff! We still haven't decided on a name, I think we'll wait until she's born & see what name fits.

I finished work last friday, yayyy! I feel funny about taking time to chill out though, I keep adding things to my list of things to do & it's all very overwhelming when I look at it. Friends who have had children keep saying get as much rest as possible before the baby comes along but there is so much to do! I guess a happy medium of rest & getting as much done as possible is what will work for me.

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Sydney today (albeit a little too warm for this preggers chick, really feeling the heat at the moment), just went for a 45 min walk & plan on going for a 1.5km swim at the pool later this arvo. I haven't been able to go for walks for the past few weeks as had pelvic pain but seems to have settled down now, just have to take it easy. So far so good. I love my exercise, I cant wait to get back into it properly post pregnancy.

I also have my Baby Shower this saturday which will be fun, just having an afternoon tea at home with about 17 people so guess I'd better start doing something about organising for that today!

Ok bye for now, I will try to update this blog with what we've been doing as regularly as possible. xx

My First Post

Yes, a very original title. I had to write something, right? Well, the countdown continues as we await the arrival of baby Bubaloo. The official drop date is the 23rd March but they tell us that anywhere from 37 weeks to 42 weeks is considered 'normal'. So not long to go now.

The grand plan is to continue updating the blog with photos, musings, videos and whatever else the Ristic family should happen to get up to over the next few decades.

So if you've made it this far, thanks for hanging in there and enjoy!
